A Culture of Awareness In Your Business

Business-Awareness

The author Joan Didion is quoted as saying, “I write to know what I think.” I LOVE this awareness from her. As an author, writing is her ‘medium’ of self-expression and her way of coming to understand the world, humanity, herself.

Whatever it is you DO in your day-to-do life is your form of self-expression that informs what you THINK!

Consider how working with horses has lit up your understanding of ‘energy’, relationships, communication, leadership, healing, centeredness, and conscious awareness.

I recently learned about a ‘Permaculture State of Mind’. I imagine the term ‘permaculture’ might be new to some folks. The term defines the state in which we are creating ‘culture’ at all times (mostly unconsciously). Meaning, we generally go along with ‘what is’ just because that’s the way it’s always been done, even if it’s not the best way to do it!

Wars are waged over these kinds of beliefs. In American history, the Revolutionary War and the Civil War are two prime examples of expanding consciousness no longer able to tolerate the injustice of the status quo.

As practitioners of equine-inspired learning, we are on the leading edge of helping others expand their awareness and potential as citizens of planet Earth. The work we do is actually creating a ‘permeable’ culture where kindness, collaboration, empathy, and creativity are celebrated as strengths as opposed to weaknesses to be exploited.

This culture of awareness of the oneness of the human race and interconnectedness of all life is expanding and building. Those that feel threatened are getting louder and more aggressive. Interestingly enough, the path to peace is not to regale against their archaic, self-centered thinking, but to understand it as the last gasp of desperation for believing they can prevent change and evolution. Our energy is vitally important and we need to maintain centeredness and peace within ourselves during the tumultuous shifts we are experiencing across our planet with climate, leadership, monetary systems, agriculture, and business.

We are ushering in a new way of doing business from the heart, as an extension of our authentic selves. It’s not about greed, it’s about life-affirming practices. If you are feeling the same, you have the opportunity to participate in this shifting consciousness toward a culture of ‘We’ versus ‘They’.

When I first started facilitating and coaching I didn’t think I would ever want to work for corporate groups because I didn’t like their ‘culture’. That was so ignorant and even arrogant of me. I now LOVE working with those groups. They are starving for the opportunity to DO something that helps them broaden their understanding of the world, relationships, and themselves, which helps them choose new ways to THINK!

Sometimes we feel pulled into this work because of something much bigger than we can understand at the moment. And it’s easy to get mired down in the day-to-day aspect of building a plane while you’re flying it!

Quantum Leaps into new territory requires timing, structure, knowledge, and preparedness. Lean into the new awareness coming in from the work you are doing as well as the work you are preparing to do.
