Thank you for joining me on this journey through the 11 Quantum Leap Readiness Principles necessary to for a healthy business to not only become sustainable but to continue to grow and evolve!

In this episode, we’re going to consider Quantum Leap Principle #11: Reciprocity ~ Ability to Give and Receive

You know the phrase, “I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine!”

One of the ways horses demonstrate reciprocity is through the act of mutual grooming. It feels so good to have their back scratched by their buddy that they can’t help but to return the favor!

Soulful entrepreneurs are notorious for ‘giving the store away’ in the form of their hearts and time. It’s like a horse scratching his buddy’s back over and over again and never getting his back scratched in return.

A reciprocal way of being requires an attitude of allowing in the area of give and take in order to maintain a state of balanced exchange for the energy expended.

If you are experiencing a block in your ability to receive the support and resources you need to continue your good work, then your herd will ultimately suffer as you eventually run out of the energy necessary to continue to give.

When we block our ability to receive by placing conditions on the good and resources that come to us, we become rigid in our thinking about who we are supposed to receive our good from. What form that good must take and how we are supposed to receive it. Then we have all kinds of beliefs and conditions of each of those…

Let me illustrate. In this scenario, let’s use the resource of financial income.

Let’s start with a common belief around ‘who’ should provide our income. I work with many new entrepreneurs that were accustomed to making great money through their corporate jobs and are now freaking out about receiving payment for their service when it comes directly from an individual client.

This is an oversimplification, but we suffer from cultural conditioning that our income should be provided through hard work doing something we don’t necessarily enjoy in order to ‘earn’ the paycheck that will provide us food, shelter, and an occasional fun experience or hobby. And, our giving from our heart must be through charitable exchanges with no expectation of return other than ‘it does our heart good to give’.

I totally agree that it does our heart to good to give of ourselves. AND that it is even better to give from your heart while being compensated in equal measure.

The scenario of spending a third to half of your day immersed in unpleasant work is a dying paradigm. We are a new order of business owners who choose to live their truth through their service of transformation. And we gotta eat too!

Take some time to consider how your outdated beliefs and behaviors may be blocking your ability to charge appropriately for your service, to actually attract enough clients to serve or to trust an investment in a coach or mentor to help you grow your business because your not sure you believe you can get out of your own way!

If you are constantly giving away your service, barely making ends meet or working extra jobs to feed the horses then you are clearly blocked and out-of-exchange with the Universe.

So, I will leave you with this… when you open and allow yourself to Receive! Receive! Receive there will be an overflowing abundance to Give, Give, Give!
