Running in Circles
Listen Here:
Over the next few episodes, I’m going to introduce you to my herd and some other horses I have worked with over the years by sharing their client experiences from their point of view!
I call this series, “Horse Sense for Humans”. I hope you enjoy.
This entry is titled, “Running in Circles”
Hello, I’m Coach Rumi.
There’s a woman preparing to enter the round pen with me. Everything feels calm for the moment. Well, that was short-lived. Now she’s talking and the calm feeling went away. Oh, this makes me crazy (bucking and snorting).
Ah… there, the calm feeling is back again and she’s coming into the round pen with me ~ whew!
I greet her with my nose to her hand and she giggles. That feels nice. We walk around together feeling connected… oops - where did that feeling of connection go? There’s something else that feels all swirly and messy. I stop. I don’t want to continue like that.
The woman stops too. She looks at me and starts to giggle again. That feels nice. I walk up to her and she puts her hand on my neck. She feels warm and happy. We are both happy until she leaves the round pen and starts talking again. The swirly, messy feeling comes back and it’s getting bigger! I can’t get away from it.
I run and run and run as fast I can but it’s still there and she’s still talking!
Wait. She is standing up and speaking very loudly. Something has shifted. I stop right behind her. It feels good to relax.
Now, what’s happening? She sits down and starts talking again. Where did the clear energy go? This is too much! I run the other direction, round and round and round! Maybe I can unwind this energy.
She stands up again and turns to face me. “Oh, that’s my life”, I hear her say. “Running in circles!” I stop and face her. She speaks again, this time very clearly, “When I speak my truth, I can stop running in circles!”
I feel a huge release from the swirly, messy energy and a clear open feeling occurs. I drop my head and lick and chew and see the woman is smiling with her hands over her heart. Whatever she just said sure feels good to me!
